This programme area comprises all PRIF activities to serve the scientific community and the public at large. This concerns services but also those activities which cannot be easily attributed to the other research departments or to the research programme and that are meant to provide policy advice.
Besides the awarding of the bi-annual Ernst Otto Czempiel Award as part of PRIF's annual conference and the Hessian Peace Prize are coordinated in the department.
Since 1990 PRIF has offered a program to foster young budding researchers in the field of peace and conflict research as well as security policy at the Spring Academy on Security Politics. In 2010, the Spring Acadamy on Security Politics in cooperation with PRIF took place for the last time.
